NewsWatch is independently owned, and has highlighted the stories of over 650 celebrities and their causes. The show also highlights Fortune 500 companies, independent apps, and a wide variety of nonprofit organizations. The show also airs promotional features, and has national and on-line promotional opportunities. They are often hired by companies seeking media promotions to increase product sales and services.

 

The recent success of the Avanca Indiegogo Crowdfunding Campaign for their Ockel Sirius B pocket PC device is only one example of the success achieved by using Newswatch on air and on-line promotional channels. Avanca’s campaign success occurred when they launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, simultaneously with NewsWeek on air and on-line promotions. The campaign raised over 29% more money than they had originally anticipated, and in 30 days achieved 2,939% of their goal. Their original goal was $10,000 in 30 days. The campaign instead raised $456,551.

 

Avanca executives attribute the Indiegogo campaign’s success to NewsWeek media promotions. Avanca Marketing Director, Nathalie van Wijkvliet explained, “We [worked with] NewsWatch and it was one of the main reasons why the crowdfunding project was successful.” The company is currently working with NewsWatch to promote another campaign and product as well, and expect to again exceed their marketing goals.
